ABOUT
"Sometimes asking what have I just seen can be a good thing - this is one of those times" [Uncultured, TAMED]
Sraddling theatre, dance, performance art and immersive worlds, Flight are makers of original cross-disciplinary performance, theatre and film.

Personal, political and experimental, our work explores and debunks power structures and social norms, subverting the status quo to reimagine the narratives we think we know. Straddling genres and forms, we work across movement, theatre, clown and documentary.

Physically and visually rich, we draw on the intimate and the epic, the mundane and the extraordinary, the silly and the serious. We are interested in how humour, play and vulnerability sits alongside complexity, grief and resistance.
Working collaboratively, we devise original performance and film with artists and non-creatives, placing lived experience, experimentation and collective authorship at the centre of our practice.
We are interested in performance as an act of joy, community, poetry, and protest, often working outside traditional venues and in close dialogue with the places and communities we are part of.

FLIGHT is the beast-child of theatre maker, director, writer and performer Sarah Calver. Created as company to make new work and explore experimental and collaborative processes.

Since forming in 2013, we have created, performed and toured work across the UK and Europe. With a regular home in East Anglia, but footholds and collaborative partners in Belgium, France, Spain and Germany, we have a strong international ilk and interest in cross-cultural and border collaboration and performance.
