TAMED

TAMED explores and deconstructs how women are shaped and tamed by the systems that surround them. Very loosely inspired by The Taming of the Shrew, five female actors gather to rehearse a new adaptation of the play. Taking turns to play Kate, they test versions of the tamed and untamed woman.

As rehearsal unfolds, reality and fiction begin to blur. The actors play the roles and are played by them; rebellions surface, are contained, and are quietly crushed. What begins as rehearsal slips into an act of performative rebellion — exposing the structures that shape behaviour, suppress resistance, and dictate who gets to speak, move, and act freely.
